New Course Route for 2019
Due to the renovation of the 15th hole there is a new route planned for the 2019 season. At Strand we are lucky to have a “19th hole“ (the training and short game practice hole) which means there will be very little disruption to play. The course will still play as an 18 hole - par 71 course for the 2019 season, with no temporary greens in play.
After consulting course staff, our pro Janne and members, the below route was decided upon as it offers the best order in terms of flow of the round, safety and as mentioned limits any disruptions. I will outline the new order of holes below to the best of my abilities and I have already ordered new tee signs to make it as clear as possible for players during their rounds.
This year we will start on hole 2 as the new hole 1. Players will then play the course as normal up to hole 8 which was formally hole 9. Players will then proceed to the training hole next to the putting green where they will play their 9th hole, a par 3.
When the restaurant is open the halfway break for those playing 18 holes can be taken in the clubhouse or on the terrace and the bathroom facilities in either the restaurant or on the end of the clubhouse adjacent to the putting green can be utilised. If it is after hours for the restaurant or there is a private function booked such as a wedding, there will be a sign placed on the terrace informing golfers and the break can be taken after 10 holes at the kiosk, which will be open as normal throughout the season.
Hole 10 this season will be the old first hole, also a par 3. Players will then either go up the hill or around to play the next hole, which was the old hole 10. Following this, the course will be played as normal with players just skipping the old hole 15 which is under construction and continuing over to hole 16 where holes 16, 17 & 18 are played as normal.
Although this can sound a little complicated now, I can assure you it will be very clear on opening day. All holes and scorecards will be clearly marked and staff will be on hand to assist with any questions prior to heading out. If any players use certain gaming apps to track or score their round, please let me know so I can contact the particular companies to request a course update.
If you have any questions please feel free to email me at email@example.com
I look forward to seeing you out on the course soon.
